Our Story

Deh Island Radio, a division of Island Frequency Media LLC, is a Black-led, Black-centered digital radio station rooted in the U.S. Virgin Islands and powered by the Caribbean diaspora. Built from island pride and cultural legacy, the station exists to amplify authentic voices, rhythms, and stories that move our people — both at home and across the globe.

Led by Managing Director Amanee Skye, a proud U.S. Virgin Islands native born and raised in the territory, Deh Island Radio was created to fill a void. A void where USVI music wasn’t consistently represented. A void where island culture wasn’t always protected with care. A void where our sound deserved more than occasional airplay.

Her lived experience, deep cultural roots, and love for the islands shape the station’s sound, standards, and community-first vision — ensuring the culture is always represented with integrity.
